I must admit im not the best when it comes to graphic design, but with this post you have highlighted the fact theres options for people looking to do graphic design and have an outlet they can use.

    thanks for this, great post.

        Interesting article Aps.

Graphic designer can be a lucrative profession. You just have to checkout the gigs on platforms like Fiverr and 99 designs. It can also be terriblely hard to make good money because of the competition when you are just starting.

I notice you didn’t include Fiverr in your recommendations. I’m curious to know why?

        • Aps

          Hi Femi,
Of course, I recommend Fiverr as it’s a great platform to earn money. But lately, people have started offering all sorts of services starting at $5, and that has increased the competition tremendously.

I agree graphic design for any product is essential and it helps keep people on your site longer. I have to admit I’m not very creative when it comes to design. However, I did find your links interesting. Thank you for writing this post.

Graphic designers are artists! I am creative, but not like this! I’m sure this article will be very helpful to anyone looking into finding a graphic design job! You have quite a few websites for them to choose from.

  • Kathy

I’ve completed several courses in graphic design over the years, and enjoy using these skills on my own site. However, I feel there is a lot of competition in freelance design jobs these days. Thank you for listing those sites and I’ve made a note of them. I did create a few gigs on Fiverr in the past, but despite the competition, I may give it another go:) Kathy

Thank you so much for this insighful article, Ron! The world is becoming more digitized by the day, and as such, having a sophisticated and advanced knowledge of computers and graphic design is a surefire way to make money, both online and in person. Most people, including myself, are visual people-we like bright colors, we like crisp looking images, we like smooth finishes, and we like a realistic, professional look to things. If you have these skills and enjoy working in this realm, definitely use it to help people, make the world a better place, and take care of yourself. God bless you!

My boyfriend is very good at editing videos and I think he could be a graphic designer too. Thanks for sharing this idea / opportunity and the sites to start at.

A few of my cousins are doing this online these days and they are making good money. But like you said in your post you need to be at creativity and have knowledge for current trends. Which my cousins have. I think either you have these skills or you don’t. The person who made our business logo charged us a hefty fee!

Thank you for an interesting post and opportunity.

LOL, I used to get so frustrated by articles like this. I have studied for 10 years (2 consecutive studies, one for painting and one for design) and always got frustrated by the thought that nowadays ‘everybody’ calls him or herself a graphic designer. Which is not true of course. As soon as I could turn back to my own worth it didn’t bother me anymore.
And you’re right, a graphic designer can earn good money. My hourly rate was between €150 and €300 and now that I have retired myself, I am living my dream life in Spain. So no complains anymore 🙂
I would add to the list of skills: being able to market yourself and good knowledge of usability and typography.

I had know idea that someone, such as myself, with a talent in graphic designing could actually find ways to earn online. This list is amazing, thanks so much for this information. I am bookmarking this!

This is an interesting offer. I like to design stuff. I enjoy it. And if I can get paid for it it would by like my dream job.

I had heard about 99designs but had never gone to their website. I hadn’t heard about the other sites. I’ll try to sign-up on several of them and see what happens. Thanks!

As a design student in college, I have to learn Graphic Design just to complete assignments. I’m an architecture major, though, so other than making presentation boards, I never get to showcase what I’ve learned. I’d actually considered freelance graphic design in these last few months but wasn’t sure where to go with it. I looked at UpWork and signed up, but their site is filled with all kinds of jobs. I felt very washed out and couldn’t find anything I’d be interested in working on. Your article has given me new hope, though! This list is a fantastic resource. I know I’ll be using it to help me fill my down-time hours when no money is being put in the bank!
